Dispute with: A Business, Company, or Store
Amount: $1,001 to $10,000
Description: I purchased a home warranty a couple of years ago that said no matter how old your appliances were they would be repaired or replaced. They did repair my ac a couple of times but now that it has stoped altogether they will not replace it because they say it is not mechanical failure.I had a second repairman come out at there approval who had found 2 leaks and said that the unit was well past its lifes span and that it would cost more to repair it than it is worth. He said most units last around 10 to 14 years,my unit is 23 years old.I have found a lot of people with this company have experienced the very same thing.I mean a lot of people. It seems that they will try to find some way to call it property abuse or neglect and not mechanical failure to keep from having to purchase you a new unit. Both repair men have said that the unit was just worn out{mechanical failure} but the warranty company keeps denying the claim.I know that they are a lot of people who have this warranty with the same results as mine for a class action law suit. This company is taking advantage of it's customers. Please help!
